ලංකාවේ උතුරේ ඉදන් පහලට travel කරත්, දකුනෙ ඉදන් උතුරට ගියත් අනිවාර්යයෙන් දවසක් දෙකක් නැවතිලා පුන්චි සිරිපාදෙ නැගලා, ඇල්ලේ ගල නැගලා, රාවනා ඇල්ලේ නාලා, ඇල්ලේ ඉඳන් දෙමෝදරට rail hike එකක් යන ගමන් ආරුක්කු නවයේ පාලම බලලා, දෙමෝදරත් ගිහිල්ලම එන්න පුලුවන්. හැබැයි වැස්ස දවස් වලට රාවනා ඇල්ලේ නම් පරිස්සමින්. වතුරත් ගොඩක් එනවා, ඒ වගෙම ලිස්සනවා.
කට්ටිය ගොඩක් miss කරන තැනක් තමයි දෝවේ පන්සලයි, දෙමොදර Railway Loop එකයි. දෝව පන්සල කියන්නෙ වලගම්බා රජතුමා හැංගිලා හිටපු තැනක්. ඉතිහාස කතාවකුත් තියෙන නිසා ගිහිල්ලම බලන්න. ලස්සන වගෙම නිදහස් තැනක්. දෙමෝදර Loop එක නම් ටිකක් ප්‍රසිද්ද එත් කට්ටිය ගොඩක් යන්නෙ නැති තැනක්. එකම කන්දේ දුම්රිය රවුමක් ගිහිල්ල එන ලංකාවේ තියෙන එකම ස්ථානය. 1921 දී බදුල්ල දක්වා දුම්රිය මග ඉදිකිරීමේදී හමුවුණු විවිධ බාධක ජයගත් බ්‍රිතාන්‍යන් දෙමෝදරදී මුහුණ දුන්නේ ඇති දුෂ්කර ගැටලුවකට. ඊට හේතුව මෙතනින් ඉදිරියට මාර්ගය තනන්නේ නම් සීග්‍ර බැස්මක් සහිතව තියුණු වංගුවක් ගැනීමට සිදුවීමයි. ආසන්න වශයෙන් අංශක 90 ක් පමණ තද වංගුවක් ගන්නේ කොහොමද ? මේ එදා සුද්දෝ මුහුණ දුන් ප්‍රධානම අභියෝගය එයයි. මෙයට පිළිතුර ලබා දුන්නෙත් කීර්තිමත් ශ්‍රී ලාංකිකයෙක් වන DJ විමලසුරේන්ද්‍ර මහතායි. මෙම බාධක දෙකම එක වර ජයගත හැකි වුයේ දුම්රිය ස්ථානයට ඉදිරියෙන් පිහිටි කන්ද වටා ගොස් නැවත දුම්රිය ස්ථානයට අඩි 70-80 ක් පමණ පහලිනි පිහිටි බිම්ගෙයක් තුලින් ගමන් කිරීමෙන්. මෙහි කන්ද වටා රවුම යාර 990 ක් පමණ වෙන අතර උඩරට දුම්රිය මාර්ගයේ අංක 42 බිම්ගෙය දුම්රිය ස්ථානයට හරියටම යටින් ඉදිවන්නේ බදුල්ල දක්වා දුම්රිය මග තැනීමට තිබු අසීරුතම බාධාව ඉවත් කරමිනි.මෙය LOOPING IN LOOP ලෙස හදුන්වනු ලබනවා. මෙහෙදී සිදුවන්නේ ඇල්ල සිට දෙමෝදරට පැමිණෙන දුම්රිය බදුල්ල බලා ගමන් කිරීමේදී ඉදිරියෙන් ඇති කන්ද වටා ගොස් දුම්රිය ස්ථානයට යටින් පිහිටි බිම්ගෙයක් ඔස්සේ බදුල්ල දෙසට ගමන් කිරීමයි. මෙම ක්‍රමය එකල මෙහි විසු සිංහල ගැමියෙක් (ගොපල්ලෙක්) තම හිස බැදී ජටාව පෙන්වා ඒ ආකාරයට ඉදි කරන ලෙස පැවසු බවද කියවෙනවා. මෙම සුවිශේෂී නිර්මාණය දෙමෝදර දුම්රිය පොලට මනාව දිස්වෙනවා.
——————— ඉතින් ඔයාලත් වෙලාවක ඇල්ලේ ඇවිල්ලා මේ සුන්දරත්වය වින්දින්න. අපි ඔක්කොම එකතු වෙලා මේ පුන්චි ගම ආයෙත් අපිට එන්න පුලුවන විදියට තියමු. ගිහිල්ලා පොලිතින්, බෝතල් එහෙම දාලා එන්න එපා. තව අවුරුදු 10කින් මේ විදියටම ඇල්ල කියන්නේ ලස්සන ගමක් කියලා කට පුරා කියන්න පුලුවන් වෙන විදියට තියන්න ඔයලා ඔක්කොම උදව් කරයි කියල හිතනවා.
Ella is a small town in the highlands of Sri Lanka, vastly famous for the great hikes with incredible views. Anyone passing through the hill country of Sri Lanka will sure visit Ella as it's centralised in every possible way. The morning sunrise and the evening mist, with clouds covering the summits of the mountains, is quite a view which bound travellers to spend some quality time in Ella.
These are the must dos in Ella.
1) Climb Little Adam’s Peak -
Plan your visit in early morning or late evening for best views
2) Climb Ella Rock -
Again same as above early mornings and late evenings are the best times
3) Nine Arch Bridge -
Built with solid rocks in 1920s. Stay there until a train passes the bridge to capture some good photos.
4) Ravana Falls -
If you love water and wanna have some splash time enjoy some hours in the water fall. You can spend sometime swimming. But always make sure Safty First
5) Tea Factory and Tea Estates
Area is filled with tea. If you wanna know how tea is made then plan a visit to Halppewatte Tea factory
6) Lipton Seat is Not in Ella, You have to come to Haputhale, 30-40 min drive from Ella. But worth going. It’s a famous view point with some incredible views.
7) Train tours
If you planning your journey from Nuwaraeliya to Ella, we suggest you to take the train as that will be a life time experience. You will capture some great photos.

Not in Ella, You have to come to Haputhale, 30-40 min drive from Ella. But worth going. Famous old monastery built in 1931.
If you still have time, you can go to Dowa Temple, and if you love camping find some time to climb the Namunukula Mountain.
